Neglected or abused children are usually removed from their homes for their own safety and welfare. The next question is how these children can be given the proper love and care that they need and deserve. The answer to this question is often foster care or adoption-two family law concerns that greatly impact the well-being of a child.
Texas is considered one of the friendlier states when it comes to adoptive parents. This may be in part because we have so many children in our state in the foster system to begin with.
National Adoption Day is set for November 17th. As part of the festivities, there are plans to finalize 20 adoption procedures taking place for West Texas families.
There are approximately 6,000 children awaiting adoption in Texas. Sadly, there are too few foster homes currently to provide some children with any sort of stability whatsoever.
