Melissa A. Aldape earned her J.D. from Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law. During her time at Loyola, she was an active member of the Trial Advocacy program and worked as a Student Practitioner in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic's Children's Rights Clinic. It was during this time that Melissa discovered her passion for litigation and protecting the best interests of children.

Upon graduating from law school and being admitted to the State Bar of Texas, Melissa practiced transactional employment-based immigration law in Houston, Texas for several years. Through her immigration practice, Melissa gained valuable experience working with an international clientele and U.S. Embassies abroad. This experience, combined with her passion for advocacy, led Melissa to return to litigation. Melissa now exclusively practices family law, and prides herself in passionately advocating for her clients. She has experience in high conflict custody cases, as well as handling custody and property division matters in highly contested divorces.

Melissa is fluent in both English and Spanish.
